CID Director-General, COP Faustina Andoh-Kwofie, has sued the National Investment Bank (NIB), accusing the bank of tampering with her late husband’s accounts.
Filed at the High Court in Accra on January 22, 2025, the suit alleges that NIB officials manipulated balances in accounts belonging to her late husband, COP Stephen Andoh-Kwofie.
As the administrator of his estate, she claims her husband had informed her of substantial deposits in multiple accounts under his name and company, ANEBONA.
However, when she requested statements for accounts like 5012002254901-USD-ANEBONA and 5012002254902-GBP-ANEBONA, she discovered significant discrepancies, with balances far below expectations.
Despite repeated demands, she alleges that NIB has failed to provide a full breakdown of transactions.
Some bank officials initially confirmed the presence of significant funds but later became unresponsive. She was also informed of internal irregularities at the bank, including staff tampering with client accounts.
Through the lawsuit, she is seeking a court order to compel NIB to provide complete and accurate statements from December 1, 2014, to date, as well as general damages and legal costs.
