A Florida beach known for its white-quartz sand was recently crowned the best beach in America.
Those familiar with beautiful Siesta Beach in Siesta Key won’t be surprised to learn that the popular Gulf destination recently took the No. 1 spot in the U.S. in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Best of the Best Beaches List. The Florida oasis also nabbed the No. 4 spot on Tripadvisor’s 2025 Best of the Best Beaches in the World.
These prestigious lists include the highest-rated beaches by real travelers who have visited and shared their tips and experiences on Tripadvisor over the last year.
“Beach-loving travelers flock to Siesta Beach for many reasons including the powdery white-quartz sand, clear shallow waters, and family-friendly atmosphere,” a news release explains. “The beach has lifeguards on duty, while the relaxing town offers nearby cafes and oyster bars, all within walking or biking distance. Visitors can spot wildlife like manatees and dolphins while on kayaking tours and enjoy beautiful sunsets from the soft sand beach.”
Located on an eight-mile barrier island off the coast of Sarasota, Siesta Beach boasts clear waters, powder sand, seashells, and a wealth of beachfront accommodations. According to Tripadvisor, the best time to visit is between April and May or September and October. During these windows, the weather is pleasant, crowds are smaller, and temperatures are “more moderate” compared to the peak summer months.
In addition to a beach that could pass for the Caribbean, Siesta Key has a friendly, small-town feel, complete with two villages and a trolley that offers free rides to the beach and other destinations.
Sounds like a dream come true.
