A beloved social media star is dead at age 45 — after going for a tattoo.
Ricardo Godoi, a Brazilian auto influencer, went into cardiac arrest at the start of a procedure to ink his entire back, it was reported.
The tragic event is said to have occurred Jan. 20 at a hospital in Brazil’s Santa Caterina state, where the wheels whiz was to undergo general anesthesia before the bodywork began.
Reportedly, the tattoo artist had not even had a chance to get started when Godoi suffered a heart attack — shortly after the sedation process had begun.
The late vehicle virtuoso had shared about the appointment on his feed — telling his 225,000 fans that morning that he’d be back to posting shortly.
An Instagram post announcing the death states that Godoi passed at noon the same day.
A police investigation into the event is reportedly in progress.
“He was quickly checked and a cardiologist was called in to try to revive him, unfortunately without success,” the owner of the studio said in a statement published by the Daily Mail.
The ink expert stated he “deeply regrets” Godoi’s passing, calling him a “great friend.”
The married dad posted about luxury cars for his avid fanbase. He was the CEO of his own business, Godoi Premium Group, People reported.
According to heartbroken fans, the family man had recently shared videos of himself and his children playing at a pool — shortly before the sad loss.
“In this moment of pain, we sympathize with family and friends, wishing strength and comfort to go through this irreparable loss,” a translation of the death announcement on Instagram read. “May the memory of Ricardo Godoi be remembered with affection and respect by everyone who had the privilege of meeting him.”
“His joy, generosity and light will continue to be present in our memories and every story he helped build.”
