If you need supplies for a DIY project but can’t get to the store, Home Depot (HD) products can now be ordered for delivery through DoorDash (DASH) and Uber Eats (UBER), the companies said Wednesday.
More than 2,000 Home Depot locations in the U.S. are available within the DoorDash and Uber Eats apps, offering “tools, building materials, gardening supplies, and more” for on-demand or scheduled delivery. Home Depot’s existing delivery options include similar on-demand delivery through Instacart and same-day delivery on the company’s own website.
Home Depot told Investopedia pricing may vary, with different delivery providers adding their own fees. Uber said its standard delivery and service fees would apply for orders through Uber Eats, while DoorDash did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
The addition is significant for Home Depot customers because it allows them to shop “however they prefer,” Home Depot Executive Vice President of Customer Experience Jordan Broggi said.
Shares of Home Depot slid about 2% Wednesday, while DoorDash shares edged 0.2% lower and Uber ticked 0.1% higher.
