Social Security check will arrive on March 12th to a group of americans
United States Social Security benefits are one of the most important payments for United States citizens. Getting one of these payments can make a big difference to the beneficiaries’ budget, so it’s good to know whether or not we’ll have it on the next payment day.
Thus, on March 12, 2025, the Social Security Administration will directly pay a new check for up to $5,180 in some cases. There is no doubt that having this type of benefit means having basic economic stability for these retirees. And you could be in the group that gets the payment soon.
For the collection of the check on March 12th, we will need to meet two requirements. If we meet them, the Social Security Administration will send us the check. If we do not meet them, we will have to wait until a different day in the monthly payment calendar.
Requirements for Social Security on March 12th
If we bear in mind that the group that will get their Social Security payment on March 12th will be group 2, we just have to check which retirees are in this group 2. If we meet the two requirements, we will be able to receive the payment without any problems.
The two requirements for receiving this payment are:
- To have been receiving a benefit since after May 1997.
- Your birthday is between the 1st and 10th of the month.
Thanks to these two requirements, we will be able to get our retirement payment on March 12th, but that does not mean that we will get the payment on that same day. The Administration does send the check, but whether or not we receive it immediately will depend on whether we have Direct Deposit activated.
How can I increase my Social Security check?
The truth is that if we have already started to collect the Social Security retirement benefit, we cannot directly increase the payment received. But if we have not yet applied for our retirement check, there are things we can do to maximize the payment.
On the one hand, we can delay the retirement age as much as possible. In this sense, the maximum payment only comes if we wait until we are 70 years old before asking Social Security for the benefit. Any age below this will not allow us to get the biggest check.
On the other hand, it is also important to take into account the years worked and the salary during those years. For the maximum payment, we must have reached 35 years of work and have collected a high salary during those years. Only in this way will we obtain a maximum payment of $5,180 or similar.
