This week, on March 26, the last round of monthly Social Security payments will be sent out to beneficiaries.
Throughout each month, Social Security benefits are issued to retirees based on birth dates or the amount of time they’ve been receiving benefits.
Social Security benefit payments serve as a crucial source of income for retirees throughout the U.S., with billions of dollars distributed across 70 million recipients every month.
Who qualifies for Social Security payments on March 26
Social Security payments issued on Wednesday, March 26, will be for claimants who have birthdays falling between the 20 and 31 of any calendar month.
If beneficiaries are eligible for this payment, but don’t receive payments on the expected date, the Social Security Administration recommends waiting three additional mailing days before contacting Social Security.
However, this specific payment does not apply to beneficiaries who have been claiming since before May 1997, or those who also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI is usually paid at the beginning of the month, and supports elderly, blind, as well as disabled individuals who have limited incomes and assets.

How much will the payments be?
The amount of Social Security benefits received depends on certain factors, like the age individuals began claiming and their highest-earning years.
Maximum Social Security benefits depend on what age an individual retired, so, if an individual retires at full retirement age in 2025, the maximum benefit would be $4,018, Newsweek reported.
