Donald Trump has trolled the Colombian president after their international spat, suggesting that he made him “lose his mind.” Trump took to Truth Social to share a screenshot of an X post that praised his antagonistic abilities after the two presidents sparred over the treatment of repatriated migrants, or “illegal aliens” as the president referred to them, heading back to Colombia. The X post, re-shared by Trump on his social media site, said: “I think Trump’s greatest superpower might be his absolutely insane ability to make everyone he has a fight with lose their mind. The Colombian president was just the latest person to fall victim to that, but he wasn’t the first and won’t be the last.” It comes after Trump declared victory over Colombian President Gustavo Petro, after his government said it would begin accepting repatriated migrants arriving in the country on U.S. military aircraft as part of the Trump administration’s mass deportation efforts.

Thieves used explosives to steal ancient artifacts from a museum in the Netherlands, police say.

Thieves have stolen a slew of ancient artifacts, including a 2,500-year-old golden helmet, after an explosive raid on a museum in the Netherlands. CCTV footage released by Dutch police shows two hooded figures at Drents Museum in Assen, in the northeast of the country, at 3:45 a.m. local time on Saturday. The pair break in through an exterior door before using explosives to gain entry into the museum. Among the loot were three gold bracelets from around 50 BC, and a “masterpiece” golden helmet from 5th century Romania that was actually on loan from a museum in the southeastern European country. The items were part of the “Dacia: Empire of Gold and Silver” exhibit, detailing the lives of the Dacians, a society that lived in the Carpathian mountain region of Romania before its conquest by the Romans. Dutch police are working with Interpol to find those responsible for the heist, while Drents Museum authorities can do nothing but wait and commiserate with their counterparts in Bucharest. “We are intensely shocked by the events last night at the museum,” Drents Museum Director Harry Tupan said in a statement. “In its 170-year existence, there has never been such a major incident. It also gives us enormous sadness towards our colleagues in Romania.”

The Philadelphia Eagles will play the returning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in this year’s Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. The Eagles and the Chiefs will face off once again, giving Philadelphia a chance for a rematch after losing to Kansas City 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII in 2023. The AFC Championship game was a nailbiter, with Kansas City edging out the Buffalo Bills in the fourth quarter by a single field goal. The Chiefs pulled off a close victory against their division rivals—who previously handed the dominating team one of only two losses during the regular season. The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid, will now advance to their third Super Bowl in a row, hoping to be the first team in history to win three back-to-back titles. Meanwhile, the Eagles routed their NFC East rivals, the Washington Commanders, in a 55-23 blowout that saw quarterback Jalen Hurts pass for 246 yards and a touchdown, while scrambling for another 13 and three more touchdowns. Star running back Saquon Barkley also rushed for three more touchdowns, after becoming only the ninth player in NFL history to run for over 2,000 yards in a season. The Big Game will be broadcast on Fox this year on Sunday, Feb. 9, and will feature a halftime show performance by Kendrick Lamar.

Guv Issues Warning to Trump: I’m Ready to ‘Stand in the Way’

BRING IT ON

JB Pritzker

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he was ready to “stand in the way” of federal authorities if they try to circumvent Illinois law while conducting raids to deport undocumented immigrants. Pritzker, a Democrat first elected in 2019, said his state was ready to comply with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials attempting to deport migrants convicted of crimes—but said it was “quite disturbing” that they might target law-abiding undocumented immigrants. Illinois was the target of some of the new Trump administration’s first ICE raids on Sunday, some of which were livestreamed by daytime television host Dr. Phil. “You heard [the Trump administration] talk about something unconstitutional this year—the removal of birthright citizenship,” Pritzker told CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday. “We’re going to stand in the way of an unconstitutional order. We’ll also stand in the way of them breaking the law in Illinois,” the governor said. Illinois passed the TRUST Act in 2017, which prevents state and local law enforcement from assisting, supporting or participating in federal immigration enforcement actions without a criminal warrant. However, Pritzker said his state was ready to comply with federal officials attempting to deport migrants with criminal charges.

Despite a notable January slump, the box office still saw some promising contenders this weekend with director Mel Gibson’s action-thriller Flight Risk topping the charts. Although Gibson’s sixth directorial effort was generally panned by critics, it opened on a promising note and grossed $12 million domestically by the weekend’s close. The Mark Wahlberg-led film also earned $16.2 million globally and marks Gibson’s first project to be released after he was named a “special ambassador” to Hollywood by President Donald Trump in January, alongside Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone. Meanwhile, Mufasa: The Lion King continued to roar despite premiering six weeks ago and added another $8.7 million to its domestic gross. Keke Palmer and SZA’s One of Them Days came in third with an additional $8 million in domestic ticket sales, a strong showing for a comedy on the silver screen. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Moana 2 also haven’t faltered much, earning $5.5 million and $4.1 million respectively in domestic sales.

Miley Cyrus reportedly wants nothing to do with the family drama after her father’s bizarre performance at President Donald Trump’s inaugural celebrations last week sparked public concern from her brother, Trace Cyrus. “Miley used to feel overwhelmed by the family drama. She worked hard to remove herself. She’s not about to get involved again,” a source told People magazine. “She’s in a great place now. She’s thriving and looking out for herself,” they added. Trace was quick to extend a helping hand to the pair’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, after his questionable performance at Trump’s Liberty Ball. “I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me,” Trace wrote to his dad on Instagram Thursday—a message that Miley “signed off” on, according to a source that spoke with Page Six. A few days after, however, Trace returned to the platform to announce that his dad wasn’t receptive to his message and claimed that he threatened him with legal action. “Dad my message was beyond loving,” Trace wrote in a follow-up post on Saturday. “For you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace. Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment I can assure you.”

A school district is investigating after posts were allegedly made by a Fort Worth teacher inviting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to a local high school. X user @Hookem232 responded to an ICE tweet on Thursday telling agents to go to Forth Worth’s Northside High School: “I have many students who don’t even speak English and they are in 10th-11th grade,” the account posted. “They have to communicate through their iPhone translator with me. The [U.S. Department of Education] should totally overhaul our school system in Texas too.” The school district’s board President, Roxanne Martinez, confirmed that they are looking into the viral post. “Please be assured that we are taking this situation very seriously,” she posted to Facebook, “and are committed to resolving it as quickly as possible.” The district also clarified that the individual, which they identified as a substitute teacher, will not be on campus while being investigated. “We are committed to maintaining a positive and supportive environment for all students. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we address this matter.” The controversial post came after President Donald Trump’s crackdown on migrants since his swearing in less than a week ago.

Baseball star Aaron Judge has revealed that he is expecting his first child with wife Samantha Bracksieck. The New York Yankees outfielder announced the news as he virtually accepted the 2024 AL MVP Award in New York City on Saturday. “I want to start by apologizing for missing the award dinner this evening,” Judge said. “However, my wife Samantha and I are expecting our first child any day, and could unfortunately not make it.” Page Six reported earlier that the two are expecting a baby girl. The longtime couple met in high school, ended up both going to Fresno State together for college, and then married in December 2021. In 2022, Judge signed his nine-year contract with the New York team for $360 million. “Thank you to everybody, my wife, Samantha,” Judge said in a press conference at the time. “[My wife and I] came to the decision that was in our hearts, which is we belong in New York, we belong in this city.”

Colombian Prez Gives Trump a Taste of His Own Medicine in Long, Bizarre Rant

POPPING OFF

Colombian President Gustavo Petro had some things to say to President Donald Trump as they were deadlocked over the deportation of dozens of migrants on Sunday. In a nearly 700-word Spanish-language rant posted on X, Petro went all the way back to the year 929 as he touched on everything from the history of Colombia to “white farm boys” of America. “Trump, I don’t really like traveling to the U.S.; it’s a bit boring,” he opens, eventually shifting to how he dislikes American oil. “Trump, you’re going to wipe out the human species because of greed,” he went on. “Maybe one day, over a glass of whiskey, which I accept, despite my gastritis, we can talk frankly about this, but it’s difficult because you consider me an inferior race, and I’m not, nor is any Colombian.” Petro said his stubbornness could resist any attempt by Trump to stage a coup with his “economic strength” and “arrogance.” “I will die in my law. I resisted torture and I resist you,” Petro said. “You don’t like our freedom, okay. I don’t shake hands with white slavers.” The entire situation began Sunday when Colombia refused to accept a planeload of migrants deported by the U.S., leading both presidents to declare dueling tariffs on each other. Late Sunday night, however, the White House announced that Petro had agreed to all of Trump’s terms.

Trump Team Flubs Press Release on Colombia Tariffs With a Glaring Typo

YIKES

There’s a new addition to the Trump administration typo hall of fame. As the president sounded off on Truth Social Sunday and listed a series of retaliatory measures against the country of Colombia for rebuking his deportation efforts, the White House released an accompanying press release that had a glaring error. “ICYMI [In Case You Missed It]: President Donald J. Trump’s TRUTH on Columbia Sanctions,” the statement’s title read, misspelling the country’s name as “Columbia”—the same spelling as a popular sportswear company or the Ivy League university in New York City. Earlier in the day, Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced that he had blocked two deportation flights carrying migrants from landing in the country. His bold move sparked an immediate fury from Trump, who announced he would be imposing an “emergency” 25 percent tariff on all imported goods from Colombia. The move prompted Petro to quickly agree to send his presidential plane for repatriation efforts—though he later announced that he had also instructed Colombia’s foreign trade minister to impose a rival 25 percent tariff on imports from the U.S.
