Is Direct File the latest government program to be targeted by President Donald Trump’s administration?
Tech billionaire Elon Musk said Monday that the 18F group that helped build the Direct File initiative, which allows taxpayers to file their returns directly to the Interval Revenue Service (IRS) for free, has been “deleted.” It’s not clear what this means for the Direct File program or other software that group built.
